It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Phoenix of Sublette, Kansas, born in Afton, Oklahoma, who passed away on June 7, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, John Lester Phoenix and Lillian Phoenix (Kramer); and his siblings, Darlene Ash, Dean Phoenix, Bill Phoenix and Jim Phoenix.

He is survived by : his daughter Angela Renee; his wife Shirley Mae Allen; his daughters, Shawna Mathis (Scott) of Waxahachie, TX and Angie Phoenix of Frost, TX; his grandchildren, Ethan, Gentry, Eli Rogers and Avery Mathis; and his siblings, Marsha Collins (Kenneth) of Tahlequah, OK and Larry Phoenix (Terry) of Sublette, KS. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
