With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eva Jane Schmidt of Syracuse, Kansas, who passed away on May 6, 2026 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jonas Jantz and Anna Jantz (Schmidt); her husband Henry E. Schmidt; her children, Carolyn Cruz (Tony) and Terril Schmidt; and her siblings, Henry, Ervin, Bill, Alvin, Walter, Johnnie Jantz, Ella Mae Koehn, Mabel Jantz, Goldie Jantz and Alvina Schmidt.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Schmidt (Linda) of Syracuse, KS and Robyn Schmidt of Bronx, NY; her grandchildren, Sharlene Sparbanie (Josh) of Ogden, KS, Nathan Schmidt (Claudia) of Goodland, KS, Lanette Blankenship (Michael) of Derby, KS, Mindy Cruz of Topeka, KS, Corey Schmidt (Heather) of Johnson, KS and Alexia Maune of Bronx, NY; and her great grandchildren, Abigail Sparbanie, Madelyn Sparbanie, Michaela Blankenship, Ian Blankenship, Makiah Schmidt, Audrey Schmidt and George Schmidt. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
