She was predeceased by: her husband Paul Backhus; her sisters, Ophelia Jacobson and Phyllis Mueller; her parents, William John Rhode and Lydia Elizabeth Rhode (Galliart); and her son-in-law Tom Reid.
She is survived by: her children, Brad Backhus of Tampa and Bev Reid (Tom) of Marion; her grandchildren, Jennifer Jay (Mike) and Jason Backhus (Alisha); and her great grandchildren, Cody Jay, Emery Jay and Tucker Backhus. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
