He was predeceased by: his wife Eleanor Christenson; his mother Polly; his siblings, Arliene, Jack Belmont, Robert (Bob), Jerry and Paul; his son-in-law John Spurgeon; his brothers, Don (Pat) and Mike (Debbie); and his sisters-in-law, Lila Berkley, Eleanor Ann Berkley and Alma Christenson.
He is survived by: his children, Karla Spurgeon, Karen Deckert (Scott), Jeff Berkley (Denise) and Calvin Berkley (Tina); his grandchildren, Marika Taylor (Adam), Rebekah Berkley (Chris Contee), Brenna Bliven (Patrick), Rachel Berkley (Kyle Herbert), Sam Deckert (Katie), Patrick Spurgeon, Luke Deckert (April Woody), Megan Berkley and Collin Berkley (Katie); his stepgrandsons, Tyler Adams (Megan) and Dalton Baker (Starr); his great grandchildren, Ainsley, Leyton, Harvey, Hadley, Roselyn, Finley, Ivy, Autumn, Elsie, Wesley and Archer; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Cadence, Colt, Ashton, Brynleigh, Etta and Hollis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Ottawa County Community Foundation and the Tescott Fire Department.
