He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Collins and Agnes Collins (Massoth); his sister Carol Omans; and his son-in-law Carl Brittain. He is survived by: his wife Sonya Collins; his children, Jaime Travnicek (Jeff), Jimmie Collins, Heidi Brittain, John Glen Collins (Francesca), Aaron Sayler (Amy), Ethan Sayler (Christi) and Amanda Miller (Jeremy); and his siblings, Tom Collins, Marilyn Seward, Marlene Laird, John Collins, George Collins and Pat Collins. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Thayer Cemetery (420 Hillside Dr, Thayer, KS 66776).
Memorial contributions can be made in Jim's name to the Thayer Fire Department or the Thayer Senior Center.
