We announce the death of Bernard Trompeter of Topeka, Kansas, who passed away on September 15, 2026, at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Lenard Trompeter and Rose Barbara Gaydusek Trompeter; his former wife Janet Beatrice Gregory; and his siblings, Phyllis Smith, Rita Dickerson, Elizabeth "Betty" Weigel and Thomas Trompeter.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Starkey Brandenburg; his daughters, Angie Strecker, Tammy Leathers (Jim), Jennifer Trompeter (Thom) and Melissa Trompeter; and his stepchildren, Travis Brandenburg and Jenny Nicholson (Jimmy). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home (2801 SW Urish Rd, Topeka, KS 66614). A prayer will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, sent in care of the funeral home.
