She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ruth L. Barber Porter and Stuart E. Porter, Sr.; her sister DeAnna F. Porter; her sons, Corey E. Brown Sr., Shannon D. Brown and Corron S. Baker; her great grandchildren, Asahd and Ashay Roberts; her nephews, LaShawn Akins, Tevon Stokes and Reginald Moten, II; her siblings, Terrella M. Akins, Rhonda D. Moten, Carolyn K. Zapata, Stuart E. Porter Jr. (Maria) and Markale Porter (Brenda); and her daughter-in-law Cecilia Brown. She was also cherished by 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
Early in her career she worked for The Menninger Foundation, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and Ohse Meats.
