He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Audrey Nadine Hampton and Frank Henry Hampton; his wife Ruth Elaine Pettiford; and his children, Evelyn, Angela and Frank II. He was also cherished by children, sons-in-law and grandchildren.

He was a certified First Aid and CPR instructor and worked over twenty years as a volunteer for The American Red Cross and The American Heart Association.
