He is survived by: his wife Carmen Quinto; his children, Cory Phelps (April), Christy Elder (Matt), Matt Phelps and Valerie Alcala (Ahren); and his sister Debra Filby. He is also survived by grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brennan Mathena Funeral Home (800 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, KS 66603). A rosary was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Matthew Catholic Church (2700 SE Virginia Ave, Topeka, KS 66605). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the St. Leo's Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in Dan's memory to Midland Hospice Care and/or St. Matthew Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
