David A Boyden Sr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David A Boyden Sr. of Topeka, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 21, 2026 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Francis Boyden Sr. and Harriet Boyden (Deibel); his wife Imelda "Melly" Anne Schmidtberger; his daughter Therese Boyden; and his siblings, Ray Boyden Sr., Paul Boyden (Pirom), Mary Saegert, Michael Boyden, John Boyden, Julie Stough (Bob) and Elizabeth Boyden.
He is survived by: his children, David Boyden, Jr., Joe Boyden (Cathy), Richard Boyden (Misti), Christina Leone (Sam), Tim Boyden (Christi), Mary Lawhon (Matt), Tony Boyden (Stephanie) and Elizabeth Wilkinson (Kevin); his siblings, Dan Boyden (Sharon), Anne Brown (Francis), Patricia Thorne, Cathy Dickson, Steve Boyden and Tom Boyden; and his in-laws, Roswitha Boyden, Dick Saegert and Judy Boyden. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 23rd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brennan Mathena Funeral Home (800 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, KS 66603). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, April 24th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (227 SW Van Buren St, Topeka, KS 66603). A burial was held on Friday, April 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery (801 SW Westchester Rd, Topeka, KS 66606).
