He was predeceased by: his parents, George Burgess and Helen Burgess. He is survived by: his brothers, Dan, Deane, Dwight and Dewayne Burgess; his wife Barbara MacPherson Burgess; his sons, Jim Burgess, Tom Burgess (Vickie) and Mike Burgess (Megan); and his grandchildren, Drew, Braedon, McKinlea, Meredith and Miles.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the The Brownstone (4020 NW 25th St, Topeka, KS 66618).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Washburn University Foundation to establish a scholarship in Denny and Barbara's name for a Washburn baseball player.
