He was predeceased by: his wife Deborah Allen (Harris); and his son Nathaniel Allen (Christie). He is survived by: his children, Donald Allen Jr. (Charmin), Rebecca Coons (Ken), Thomas Allen (Rasha), Thaddaeus Allen (Michelle), Rachael Weber (Jeremy), Abigale Lord (Clayton), Jeremiah Allen (Lindsay) and Jonathon Allen (Laura). He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
