He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest E. Ables and Fleta L. Ables (Stackhouse); his great-grandparent Paul Vieux; his wife Janice K. Raber (Mosher); and his brothers, Elmer, Ernest, Earl, Charles and Edwin Ables.
He is survived by: his former wife Margaret Susan "Peggy Sue" (Edelblute); his daughter Letitia Lee; his brothers, Dan and Chris Merillat; his great-uncles, James and Louis Vieux; his daughter Letti Lister (Scott); his grandchildren, Christopher Lister of Spearfish, SD and Madiera Lister Sacrison (Jesse); his daughter Linda Rahmeier (Jeff); and his great grandchild Lisa Tarwater (Rich).
