He was predeceased by: his parents, Lowell Rodgers and Beulah Rodgers; his wife Mary Mathes; and his siblings, Twilla Spiller and Leland Rodgers.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lori Spain (John) of Topeka and Julie Brehm (Randy) of Eatonton, Georgia; his grandchildren, Christopher Spain (Clare) of Prairie Village, Mackenzie Brehm of Atlanta, Carter Brehm (Juliana) of Atlanta and Benjamin Spain (Alison) of Topeka; his great grandchildren, Jade and Philomena Spain; and his sister Carole Navrat of Hillsboro, Kansas..
