He was predeceased by: his parents, John G. Kipers and Florence M. Kipers (Weeks); and his brothers, John Kipers, Jr. and Virgil Kipers. He is survived by: his children, Gregg Kipers (Deann) of Lawrence and Kim Kipers of Tecumseh; his grandchildren, Courtney and Ryan; his great grandchild Mariah; and his pet Java.
