He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Fred and Geraldine Ann Schmelzle (Wilhelm); and his siblings, Linda Eaton and George Schmelzle. He is survived by: his wife Virginia; his sons, Willie Schmelzle (Betsy) and Randy Schmelzle (Brandy); his grandchildren, Katherine Schmelzle (Lainey), Samuel Schmelzle (Sam), Sway Schmelzle, Brooklynn Schmelzle, Tucker Schmelzle and Sawyer Schmelzle; and his siblings, Mary Werner, Dorothy Bockelman (Dick), Shawnee, Betty Parhomek, Don Schmelzle, Tom Schmelzle (Carol) of Independence, MO and Mike Schmelzle (Michelle). He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
