It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Kay Lafferty (Topeka, Kansas), who passed away on May 24, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Janet's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Janet has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard V. Barnett and Irma Barnett. She is survived by: her siblings, Patty Brown of Oskaloosa and Ricky Barnett of Topeka; her daughter Kathy Lafferty of Lawrence; her grandson Benjamin Bartels of St. Louis; and her husband Don Lafferty of Topeka.
