He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Brightup and Arlene Brightup; his siblings, Margaret Brightup and Leroy (Eva Brightup); and his siblings-in-law, Robert (Judy Koch), Joseph Heim, Carol Koch and Sharon Koch.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Koch of Topeka; his children, Teresa Brown of Great Falls, MT, Christopher Brightup of Topeka, KS and MyKol Barksdale of Topeka, KS.; and his grandchild Teryn Brown of Great Falls, MT.
A memorial service was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Topeka First Church of the Nazarene (1001 SW Buchanan St, Topeka, KS 66604).
