She was predeceased by: her parents, Balentine Alonzo and Maria Tomasa Alonzo (Hernandez); and her siblings, John Alonzo, Martin Alonzo, Jesse Alonzo, Cruz Carreon and Lupe Martinez.
She is survived by: her children, Edmund Carmona, Jr., Dolores "Lola" Rangel, Mary "Mary Jo" Chavez, Richard Cuevas, Emilio Cuevas, Ignacio Cuevas, Jr., Rodolfo Cuevas, Rosemary Mentzer and Thomas Cuevas; and her brother Julian Alonzo (Rosemary). She is also survived by ses numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made in Josephine's memory to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and/or Midland Hospice Care.
