She is survived by: her mother Amy Turpin (Topeka); her siblings, Kyle Turpin (Topeka) and Gabrielle Suchi (Carbondale); her grandparents, Tom and Terry Turpin (Topeka); her uncle Kevin; and her aunt Angela Schmitt Aaron (Blue Springs Mo).
Katie chose to be an organ donor with a donation of her lungs, liver and kidneys, a piece of her will live on through these donations.
