He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hartman and Regina Hartman; and his siblings, James (Wanda), Robert (Joyce), Richard, Donald (Marilyn) and Margaret Stattelman (John).
He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Joyce, Marilyn and John; his wife Sandra "Sandy" Sloan; his sons, Brian (Gwen) and Thad (Christi); and his grandchildren, Claire Junkins (Mitchell) and Max Hartman.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Midland Hospice House, sent in care of the funeral home.
