With sadness, we share the passing of Marla Sue Barker in Topeka, Kansas. Marla, born on September 23, 1954, passed away on August 15, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marlin Kerby and Elta Kerby; her son Scott Barker; her grandmother Bertha "Morey" Henry; her parents-in-law, Wes and Dollie Barker; her brother-in-law Kent Barker; and her nephew Jacob Kuckelman.
She is survived by: her husband Kirby; her children, Christina and Sean Phillips (Becky); her grandchildren, Dom Phillips (Franny), Zachary, Lauren and Luke Phillips; her siblings, Janet Vitt (Joe), Carol Zumbrum (Keith), Jo Kerby, Kris Kerby (Teresa) and Jim Kerby (Teri); her sister-in-law Jeanette Weigel (Bob); and her pet Kinley. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Marla's honor to The Lam Foundation at thelamfoundation.org/donate (https://thelamfoundation.org) and/or First Christian Church Youth.
