He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Alexander and Edith Naomi Copeland (Chatham); his daughter Carrie Ann Gilliland; and his siblings, Jane Greene, Isla Hada, Linda Wheeler and Charles Copeland.
He is survived by: his son Kenneth James Copeland (Lura) of Shawnee, KS; his grandchildren, Clayton Gilliland and Karli Gilliland; and his siblings, Randy Copeland of Topeka, Joanna Bayless of Topeka and Shirley Wheeler of Topeka. He is also survived by 27 nieces and nephews, 58 great-nieces and nephews, and 15 great-great-nieces and nephews.
