With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Melvina (Mel) K. Sexton of Topeka, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 8, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

While her presence may be gone, her impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.
She was predeceased by: her husband J. D.. She is survived by: her children, Charlene and J. Stan; her grandchild Chris Sexton; her great grandchildren, Sophie, Benjamin Lominska, Georgia, Stella Sexton and Josephine Hesse-Sharma; and her sister Vera Toyzan of Albuquerque, NM.. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
