It is with sadness that the passing of Michael Hammes of Topeka, Kansas is shared. Michael, born on December 6, 1969, passed away on October 16, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Hammes and Cleta Mae Lierz Hammes; and his grandparents, Leo, Bertha Bergman Lierz, Lawrence and Cornelia Stallbaumer Hammes.
He is survived by: his siblings, LuAnn Roth (Bill) of Paxico, Marlene Wessel (Bob) of Seneca, Joan Glissman (Ron) of Seneca, Ellen Laird (Mark) of Topeka, Bob Hammes (Mary) of Hoyt and Tricia Hammes of Shawnee. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home (2801 SW Urish Rd, Topeka, KS 66614). A rosary will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (357 N 3rd St, Baileyville, KS 66404). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in care of the funeral home.
