He was predeceased by : his parents, Mark Stevens and Lottie Stevens (Wilson); his wife Marjorie; his sisters, Virginia Hilton and Clara Hammer; his grandson Murphy Wells; and his great grandchild Gavin Carson.

He is survived by : his children, Beverly Wells (Larry), Kathy Gardner (Paul) and Mark Stevens (Marlene); his grandchildren, John Horton, Chris Pearson, Tye Robertson, Elizabeth Wells and Melissa Gonzales; his sister Evelyn Tomlin; and his close friend Sandy Kitzman. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home (2801 SW Urish Rd, Topeka, KS 66614). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 17th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
