He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Lydia L. Steege; his wife Peggy A. Teter; his children, Judy Messerschmidt (Mark) of Ottawa, Joyce Coria (Ben) of Emporia and Nick Beasterfeld (Elisabeth) of Eskridge; and his brother Charles Beasterfeld (Mary) of Topeka. He was also cherished by sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
