Rebecca leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Rebecca’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Rebecca will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Scheibe and Anna Dobrovolny Scheibe; her stepmother Ruth Scheibe; and her son Shawn Athon. She is survived by: her children, Craig Athon of Topeka Kansas and Lisa Athon; and her grandchildren, Matt Athon, Morgan Waterman and Garrett Athon. She is also survived by three great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Parker-Price and Davidson Cremations, Funerals (245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608).
