He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest G. Charay, Sr. and Julia Charay (Silva); and his siblings, Richard Charay, Danny Charay Sr., Antonio Chary, Arthur Charay, Rosa Olivia Charay and Mary Helen Benefield.
He is survived by: his wife Adeline Charay of Topeka; his children, Robert L. Charay Jr. (Felicitas) of Topeka, Alfred Charay (Terri Allgood) of Topeka, Phillip Charay (Rachel) of Topeka, Chris Charay (Amy) of Kansas City, Charles Charay of Topeka and Felicia Hillebert (Brian) of Topeka; his siblings, David Charay (Linda) of Topeka, Alice Flores of Dallas and Margaret Martinez of Sal Mar, California; his grandchildren, Melissa, Aaron, Erika, Tyler, Mindy, Jade, Alex, Joe, Jake, Addie, Brock and Gavin; and his pet Mollie. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
