Shirley left this world on July 14, 2025 at the age of 97, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her husband Frank Benton; and her parents, Lavina "Bobby" Zimmerman and Richard Spaulding (Virginia Miesse). She is survived by: her daughter Sharon Huskey (Harold); her stepchildren, Tim Benton (Priscilla) and Marie Nightengale (Scott); her brother Gene Miesse (Pat); her grandchildren, Tisha Duncan, Mark Manning (Angie), Nick Manning, Trevor Benton (Ashli), Sarah Gold, Jordan Gold, Dylan Gold and Wyatt Nightengale; her great grandchildren, Mason Morris, Maddox Manning, Dominik Benton, Lilly Benton and Ryleigh Benton; and her stepfather Ervin "Zim" Zimmerman.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mount Hope Cemetery (4700 SW 17th St, Topeka, KS 66604). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
