He was predeceased by: his mother Mary C. Chenoweth Gaston; his sons, Rodney and Rick; his grandson Rodney William; and his brothers, Gary and Bob Gaston.
He is survived by: his father James E. Gaston; his wife Geraldine; his daughter Sheri Poore (Jay); his stepdaughters, Paulette Schwerdt (Stacey) and Brenda Schwerdt (LA); his grandchildren, David Gaston (Kim), Hillary Lolley (Jeff), Meredith Harold (Mike), Kacie Briggs (Jayson), Pamela King (Ryan) and Katelynn Madl (Willie); and his daughter-in-law Trina Gaston. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church or a charity of the donor's choice, in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.
