He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Murphy and Vida Murphy (Sutton); his wife Mary Agnes Smith; his siblings, Gloria "Polly" Moppin and Darrel "Buck" Murphy Sr.; his cousin Jody Sutton (Donald); and his son-in-law Mike McConnell.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Ann McConnell, Terry Murphy, Donald Lee Murphy Jr. and William Marvin Murphy. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren with one on the way, 2 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
