He was predeceased by: his parents, Blas G Atayde and Francica C. Chacon; and his sisters, Benita Rodriguez, Elvira Reyes and Tomasa Barron.

He is survived by: his wife Julia Atayde; his children, Alvaro Ray Atayde, Eugene Atayde, Estevean Atayde (Teresa), Faviel M. Atayde, Teresa L. Flores (Carlos), Delores Atayde and Rosa Guillen (Jorge Gonzalez); and his brother Abelardo Atayde (Rosa). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Robson Funeral Home - Ulysses (218 S Main St, Ulysses, KS 67880). A Mass will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church (804 N Colorado St, Ulysses, KS 67880). A rosary will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.
