He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Zant and Truba E. Van Zant (Parker); his children, Joey Meadows, Billy Meadows and Jamin Hartman; his brother Arnold "Lee" Van Zant; and his wife Hazel Meadows (Thompson).
He is survived by: his daughters, Stella Carranza, Penny Thacker (David), Dayna Folger (David) and Bobbi Jo Hickok (Bill); his wife Norma Hartman (Essex); his children, David Van Zant (Jessica), Tommy Van Zant (Christy) of Montezuma, KS and Kay Lee (Randy) of Fredericktown, MO; and his grandchildren, Ethan of Caitlin, TJ, Mandy, Felicia, Jennifer and Jamie. He is also survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
