He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Schmidt and Lena Koehn Schmidt; his stepfather Minister Henry B. Koehn (Chihuahua) of Camp; his former wife Alda Koehn; his wife Rosa Koehn; his son-in-law Phil Schmidt; his brother Daniel; and his half-brother George.
He is survived by: his siblings, Frank, Fred, Ruby and Martha; his children, Iva, Cecil, Clarence, Inez, Rebeca, Alvin, Herman, Leonard, Daniel, Ben, Anna, Fred, Clara and Susie; his stepchild Minister James Koehn; his children, Norma, Carl Koehn, Rosanna Schmidt, Dennis, Tammy Schmidt, Kennard Schmidt, Carolyn Schmidt, Virginia and David Friesen; his great grandchildren, James, Donna Koehn, John Koehn, Arizona, Darlene, Jim McGuire, Ronda, Glenn May, Rachel, Steve Romero and Benjamin Parra; Lena and Susie. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren.
