Caroline Flax Obituary
Caroline Flax, born on July 31, 1931, passed away on September 11, 2026. Caroline leaves behind family members and others who acknowledge this loss. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Pfeifer and Catherine Pfeifer (Dinkel); her husband Tony Flax; her brother Albert Pfeifer; her sisters-in-law, Jenny and Doris; and her siblings, Alvin Pfeifer, Allen Pfeifer, Clarence Pfeifer, Pauline (Clem Zerr) and Helen (Jake Zimmerman).
She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Wolf (Wesley) of Haven, Kansas, Anthony (Rose) of Hays, Kenneth (Connie) of WaKeeney, Kansas. and Francis (Peggy) of WaKeeney, Kansas.; her grandchildren, John Wolf (Wendy), Travis Flax (Amanda), Michelle Brannam (Dustin), Mindy Flax, Tyson Flax (Lindsay), Melanie Windholz (Tyler) and Barbara Weigel (Brennen); her stepgrandchildren, Kami Jamison (Jerod) and Kirk Lang (Liz); her siblings, Catherine Heier (Felix) and Lloyd Pfeifer (Linda); and her sisters-in-law, Anna Pfeifer, Thelma Pfeifer and Alfrieda Pfeifer. She is also survived by her 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Schmitt Funeral Home (336 N 12th St, WaKeeney, KS 67672). A rosary will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Christ the King Catholic Church (412 N 9th St, WaKeeney, KS 67672). A burial will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at the Christ the King Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Cemetery Fund or Mass Intentions and may be sent in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N. 12th Street, WaKeeney, KS 67672.
