He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Brown and Bertha Brown (Windholz); his son Clayton Brown; his siblings, Roger Brown and Jolene Purvis; and his nephew Nathan Peterka.

He is survived by: his children, Jack Brown (Jamie) of Russell, Audrey Dominguez of Littleton and Gerald Brown (Heidi) of Aiken; his siblings, Rodney Brown (Michelle) of Gorham, Colene Schmitt (J. W.) of Gorham and Galene Steckel of Russell, Kansas; and his grandchildren, Skyler, Nolan, Brantley Brown, Meiah, Faith Dominguez, Malakai Johnson and Bodhi Brown.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be given to the Richard Brown, Jr. Trap Shooting Scholarship and sent in care of the mortuary.
