He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen L. Scott and Helen E. Scott (Garabrandt); his wife Ruth J. Higgins; his stepmother Clara Winslow Scott; his sister Ethel Williams (Marion Bud Williams); his parents-in-law, Jim and Hattie Higgins; his siblings-in-law, Leroy Higgins (Doris) and Emma Finey (Monta); and his nephew Jim Higgins.
He is survived by: his son Rick (Terri); his granddaughter Darci Awtrey; and his nieces and nephews, Frank Williams, Bill Higgins, Steven Higgins, Don Callaway, Helen Verrino, Jeanie Alfaro and Wilma Higgins.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Good Shepherd Hospice or to the Midwest Braves Baseball Organization.
