He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Joseph and Isabelle Hood Sr. (Seele); his stepfather John Wiltse; his half-brother Patrick Seele; his parents-in-law, Aloysius "Bub" and Winifred Eckart; and his brothers-in-law, Theodore "Ted" Eckart, Barry Pierce and Jerry Ukena.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia L. Eckart of Bernard's Catholic Church; and his siblings-in-law, Sister Rosann Eckart O. S. B. of Atchison, KS, Catherine Ukena of Manhattan, KS, Mary Wedeking (Jim) of Lenexa, KS, Annette Pierce of Wamego, KS, John Eckart (Sandy) of Carmichael, CA, Stephen Eckart (Sue) of Versailles, MO, James Eckart (Betty) of Longmont, CO, Michael Eckart (Mary Lou) of Lynnwood, MO and Benedict Eckart (Jane) of Manhattan, KS. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
