He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Peterson and Mary Peterson (Beasley); his daughter Jill; and his brothers-in-law, Kirk Bradford and Jim Mees.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Mees; his children, Beth Eilert (Doug) of Beloit, Dana Peterson of Manhattan and Wade Peterson of Kansas City, Missouri; his grandchildren, Meg Malone (Joe), Luke Eilert (Kate), Mason Eilert, Elle Ginther (Grant), Dominic Eilert, Kolbe Eilert, Zachary Pieschl, Gabe Pieschl and Gavin Pieschl (Makenna); and his siblings, Dave Peterson (Mary Jean), John Peterson (Roxie), Mike Peterson (Linda), Steve Peterson (Mary), Dennis Peterson (Patricia), Anne Bradford, Tom Peterson, Kathy Hale (Alan) and Jean Gualtieri (Kevin). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
