Maxine Oatney Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxine Oatney of Waterville, Kansas, who passed away on July 4, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Maxine Oatney to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Harry Mapes and Pearl Mapes (Holland); her husband Harry; her sons, Allen and Joe; her grandsons, Scott Swearingen and Zack Oatney; her great grandchildren, Chelsie Oatney, Brady Mills, Easton Oatney and Gabriel Oatney; her great great grandchildren, Otis and Russell Weber; and her siblings, Harry Mapes, Helen Jensen, Bill Mapes, Cecil Mapes, Delbert Mapes and June Jorgenson.

She is survived by : her children, Alice Swearingen (Mick), Jim Oatney (Kim), John Oatney (Buffy) of Waterville and Jill Schramm (Brad); her brother Dean Mapes (Ida); and her daughter-in-law Maxine Plegge (Larry). She is also survived by eleven grandsons and several great grandchildren.

A memorial has been established for the Maxine Oatney Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date by the family.
