He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Shalz and Esther Shalz (Dyer); his wife Marilee (Madinger); his son Michael K. Shalz; his son-in-law David Miller; and his sister Joan Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Vandevort (Ted) of St. Joseph, MO, Nick Shalz (Jan) of Green Hills, OH, Mark Shalz of Kansas City, MO, Shana Barrera (AJ) of San Marcos, TX and Tiffany Sindelar (Marc) of Papillion, NE; his sisters-in-law, Karol Bembrick (Dennis) of Wathena, KS and Melinda Miller (Jim) of Wathena, KS.; Robert Shalz.
