He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Shalz and Esther Shalz (Dyer); his wife Marilee (Madinger); his son Michael K. Shalz; his son-in-law David Miller; and his sister Joan Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Vandevort (Ted) of St. Joseph, MO, Nick Shalz (Jan) of Green Hills, OH, Mark Shalz of Kansas City, MO, Shana Barrera (AJ) of San Marcos, TX and Tiffany Sindelar (Marc) of Papillion, NE; his sisters-in-law, Karol Bembrick (Dennis) of Wathena, KS and Melinda Miller (Jim) of Wathena, KS.; and also Robert Shalz.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith-Sidenfaden Chapel (3609 Frederick Ave, St Joseph, MO 64506). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice.
