It is with sadness that the passing of Richard James Yunker of Wellington, Kansas is shared. Richard, born on December 11, 1969, passed away on September 9, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Sherry Thomas; his grandparents, Aileen, Delmer Hardin, Lewis, June Yunker and Grace Kelly; his grandchildren, Laurel, Everli and Asher; and his nephew Lance Herrington.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Yunker; his children, Ginny Buettgenbach (Cody) of Wichita and Nathen Yunker (Derbey) of Wichita; his grandchildren, Claire Isham (Kevin) of Wichita, Zoey, Ayden, Braxton, Jace, Colson and Paisley; his great grandchildren, Keaton and Madi Lynn; and his brothers, James "Jimmy" Yunker, Travis Yunker, Derik Yunker, Andy Ramirez and Jim Kelly. He is also survived by uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.
A memorial service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Cornejo Funeral Home & Crematory (1030 Mission Rd, Wellington, KS 67152).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
