“I was very sorry to learn of Vanessa's passing in the latest Bethel College alumni magazine. Vanessa was a student in several of my biology classes at Bethel, was my academic advisee, and traveled with the group to Costa Rica during a January interterm. I worked with her on her senior research project, and we had some lovely conversations. Vanessa was a bit reserved, but was clearly warm and thoughtful once you got to know her. Please know that I will remember her fondly. Jon Piper”
