She was predeceased by : her parents, Edith Eva (Base) and Lamont Lee Smith; her husband Elbert Esau; and her daughter Clarith Ann Esau. She is survived by : her sister Maeanna (Zola); her children, David (Aileen), Eldon (Janice Regier), Nathan (Tee Huang) and Doreene; her grandchildren, Aaron (Jenn), Evan (Maryanne), Simon (Carissa), Anthony, Alex Esau (Haley Wattson), Cody and Eylish; and her great grandchildren, Walter, Ezekiel, Kenedy, Cameron, Aurora and Jade. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial donations may be given to Mennonite Central Committee or the Bethel College nursing program.
