We are sad to announce that, on February 5, 2026, at the age of 86, Gary Dee Schlaegel of Whiting, Kansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, D. Herbert Schlaegel and Mary Lou Schlaegel (Walden); and his siblings, Debbie Schlaegel and David M. Schlaegel. He is survived by: his daughters, Cheryl Yingst (Jon) of Whiting, KS and Gayla Reece (Eric Snell) of Holton, KS; his brother Charles S. "Chuck" Schlaegel (Connie) of Holton, KS; his grandchildren, Jacob Yingst (Molly), Tanner Reece (Taylor), Jason Yingst (Sara), Zachery Reece and Olivia Yingst; and his great grandchildren, Henry Dee and Madeline Barry Yingst.
