He was predeceased by: his parents, John Powell, Jr. and Therese Powell; and his niece Liza Marie Whitacre. He is survived by: his siblings, Anthony Powell (Betty) and Cecilia Whitacre; and his nieces and nephews, Katie Ostby (Cale), John Powell (Addison), Tony Powell (Allison), Lauren Whitacre and Max Whitacre. He is also survived by six great-nieces and great-nephews.
