He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Rickels and Myrtice Rickels; his brother Frank Rickels; and his pet Beans. He is survived by: his spouse Kay Rickels; his children, Kelly Balzer (Craig), Katie Balus (Chris), David Rickels (Marisa) and Kayce Rickels (Amanda); and his grandchildren, Makenna, Chet, Sydney, Kaelen, Kameron, Alexa, David Jr., Maverick and Lukah.
