With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David J. Smith of Wichita, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 7, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid David farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For David is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He is survived by: his children, Zechariah Smith and Sarah Carpenter; and his grandchildren, Makayla, Declan, Alison and Damien.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (124 N Roosevelt St, Wichita, KS 67208). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
