He was predeceased by: his parents, Van Powell and Bessie Powell (Carter); and his niece Chris Eichman. He is survived by: his wife Nancy A. Schafer; his children, Wendy McGregor (Don), Darren Powell and Jamie Powell (Victoria); his grandchildren, Monica, Marisa McGregor, Donovan, Mia and Edison; his siblings, Vanice M. Hephner and Van C. Powell; and his great-nieces, Whitney and Ella Eichman.
